Europe’s Biggest Disc Golf Week Is Almost Here — The 2026 European Open Lands in Tallinn!

The countdown is on. In just under three weeks, Tallinn, Estonia will become the disc golf capital of the world as the 2026 European Open — Europe’s only PDGA Major this year — descends on the iconic Song Festival Grounds from June 16–21. For Nordic fans especially, this is THE event of the year, and if you haven’t started planning, now’s the time.

The European Open is one of just four PDGA Majors in the world in 2026, which makes it an absolute must-watch for any serious disc golf fan. This year the event is wrapped inside a full festival experience — the European Disc Golf Festival (EDGF) — bringing together the best pros on the planet alongside live music and an electric atmosphere. Tallinn’s Song Festival Grounds offer a stadium-style setup rarely seen in disc golf, where thousands of fans can watch the world’s elite navigate the demanding Rockstar layout: tight fairways, low ceilings, and the kind of tricky island greens that make for jaw-dropping highlight reels.

The festivities kick off on June 16 with the Presidents Cup — Team Europe vs. Team USA — held in Estonia for the very first time. This one-night team showcase is exactly the high-energy, nation-versus-nation drama that gets even casual sports fans fired up. Then, June 18–21, the main event unfolds as the world’s top MPO and FPO competitors battle it out for Major glory. With Tallinn sitting just 80 km south of Helsinki — and only a short flight or ferry ride from Stockholm and Copenhagen — Nordic fans have a genuine geographic advantage. The best players in the world are practically on your doorstep.

This isn’t just a tournament — it’s a statement about how far European disc golf has come. The Nordic region leads the world in disc golf participation per capita, and events like this show that the sport’s global centre of gravity is firmly shifting northward. Sweden has its own DGPT events this summer (the Swedish Open in Borås on June 26–28 and the Ale Open in Nol on July 3–5), and Finland’s Heinola Open isn’t far behind. But the European Open in Tallinn? That’s the crown jewel. Whether you’re making the trip in person or clearing your schedule to watch every round online, mark June 16–21 in your calendar and get ready — 2026 is shaping up to be the greatest year in European disc golf history.
